During the 2005 winter season, excessive rain caused a portion of Angeles Crest Highway to erode. A retaining wall has been built to aid in the construction of the bridge. Additionally, highway and guardrail repair will add an additional safety measure for motorists.

Route Shield Route 5 EA(16800)
The Direct HOV project involves the construction of an elevated two-lane direct HOV connector at the I-5 and State Route 14 interchange and construction of HOV lanes in the north- and southbound directions of I-5 at the interchange. A direct HOV connector will allow motorists a freeway-to-freeway transfer without exiting the carpool lane.

Route Shield Route 60 EA(1294v)
The Pomona Freeway (SR-60) is a major urban freeway with a dual function. First, it serves as a commuter corridor linking the Los Angeles Central Business District and the communities of the San Gabriel Valley, and Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Second, it is designated as a Super Truck Route, part of the Federal Subsystem of Highways, and provides freeway access for oversized trucks. As a Super Truck Route, SR-60 is a major thoroughfare for transporting goods to and from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

The installation of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras are part of county-wide system that uses technology to monitor freeway traffic conditions, to collect and disseminate traffic information and to detect and reduce congestion.

Route Shield Route 710 EA(18311)
This is the second phase of the I-710 Rehabilitation Project; phase one was the Long Life Pavement Stratergy from State Route 1 (SR-1) to the San Diego Freeway (I-405)that was completed December 2004. This current phase of the project is a continuation and will take place from I-405 to Firestone Boulevard. Another phase of pavement rehabilitation on I-710 from Firestone Boulevard to the San Bernardino Freeway (I-10) began in 2005, with a 2009 anticipated completion date.
